The estimation of Linear Expenditure System (LES) and econometric models as Probit and Tobit analysis is utilized together with household data from Socio-Economic Survey (SES) in year 2004. The results from LES analysis confirm the facts that, when donation price increases, demand for donation will decrease. Price elasticity of demand for donation is greater than one. Our results imply that, donation is luxury goods for household. According to Probit and Tobit analysis, our results show that motivation of Thai households total donation and donation by types namely, donation for person not in a household and donation for charitable institution, are impure-altruistic. Motivation of donation for educational institution is warm-glow. Other factors which determine statistically significantly households donation are permanent income, temporary income, income in-kind and disposable income.
