Abstract:
To study these followed subjects 1) the communication skill that reveals leadership of Jesus in ancient Palestinian's viewpoint. (study through ancient Palestinian social context as appeared in the gospels) 2) the factors affecting Jesus' leadership 3) the leadership of Jesus in present Thai's viewpoint (study through questionnaires of 30 Thai Christian faithful in Bangkok). The methodology used consisted mainly textual research added with questionnaires selected through purposive sampling technique. As per the communication skill and leadership of Jesus in ancient Palestinian's viewpoint, the research reveals that Jesus, conveying his message concerning 'The Kingdom of God', used different communicating methods and strategy of verbal, nonverbal, persuasive appeal and symbolic methods according to the different target groups, situations, and surrounding environment. The highlight appeal Jesus used was ethos and logos. Moreover, the research also reveals Jesus' specific communication behavior which leading to charismatic leadership according to Jay A. Conger's behavioral dimension of charisma model. The factors affecting Jesus' leadership are 1) factors within leader himself 2) factors within his receivers 3) historical and cultural background of ancient Palestinian. The remarkable point is gospels writer's background was the factor affecting Jesus' leadership perception and the way presenting his leadership in the gospels. Jesus' leadership image perceived and presented by his disciples was mainly his high moral character, which is the factor within leader that present Thai Christian faithful perceive also. Sampling perceives Jesus' influence on their soul and lifestyle not different from ancient disciples.
