Teachers' behaviors cultivating morality for prathom suksa five students in elementary schools under the jurisdiction of the Office of Bangkok Primary Education
Abstract:
Studies teachers' behaviors on acting as a model, providing opportunities for students' behaviors training, following up students' performance and using teachers' reinforcement in cultivating inquistion, patience, honest, good discipline and unity for prathom suksa five students in elementary schools under the jurisdiction of the Office of Bangkok Primary Education. The population was twenty teachers who taught in Skills Area (Thai), Life Experiences Area, Work Oriented Experiences Area (housework) and Character Development Area (morality) of prathom suksa five in elementary schools academic year, 1997. Research instruments included an observation form and an interview form. The data obtained were analyzed by using percentage. The findings indicated that 1. On the aspect of teachers' behaviors in cultivating patience, good discipliness and unity in students found that, most teachers used acting as a model. On the inquistion aspect, most teachers used following up students' performance the most, As for the honest in observing teaching most teachers used following up students' performance the most but from the interview most teachers used modelling the most. And in all aspects, most teachers used reinforcement the less. 2. Most teachers cultivated morality on good discipline the most. In observing teaching, most teachers cultivated morality on honest the less. On the interview aspect, most teachers cultivated morality on inquistion the less. 3. In all areas concerning teachers' behaviors in cultivating morality in students found that, on the Skills Area most teachers had behaviors in cultivating patience, good disciplines and unity the most, On the Life Experiences Area most teachers had behaviors in cultivating inquistion the most, And in the Character Development Area most teachers had behaviors in cultivating honest the most.
