The development of the quality of education in English Language Program, the Humanities and Social Sciences Faculty, Phranakhon Si Ayutthaya Rajabhat University by using benchmarking methodology with the Department of English, the Faculty of Arts, Chulalongkorn University
Abstract:
The objectives of this research are to compare the educational management processes between the English Language Program (ELP),Phranakhon Si Ayutthaya Rajabhat University and the Department of English, Chulalongkorn University. The research has shown that there are many important gaps in almost every processes. To close them, the ELP has to execute 4 missions with 14 strategies as follows: 1. Strengthen the fundamentals of the ELP through 5 strategies: 1.1 fulfill the staff's qualifications, 1.2 develop students basic English skill, 1.3 update the curriculum and a learning program, 1.4 improve a management system, and 1.5 improve and provide learning resources. 2. Reform internal educational processes by using the best practices from the research findings through 2 strategies: 2.1 reform the core of the educational processes, and 2.2 the supporting educational processes. 3. Ensure satisfaction in the performance of the ELP through 4 strategies: 3.1 concentrate on the quality in every processes, 3.2 increase more benefit with the 7 principles for good practices of Chickering and Gamson, 3.3 build a close relationship with the students and stakeholders, and 3.4 present a good image with the success of graduate students and the ELP's productivity. 4. Be worth in a financial management through 3 strategies as follows: 4.1 set a financial system, 4.2 create more productivity both the quantity and the quality, 4.3 get more money by the ELP's productivity
