An analysis of non-formal education and informal education program organized by religious institutions according to Boyle's concept and The National Education Act B.E. 2542 (1999)
Abstract:
The purposes of this study was to analysis Non-formal Education and Informal Education program organized by religious institutions in relation to the fifteen principles of Boyle's concept. According to Boyle, This study classified programs into three types. These are developmental institutional, and informative programs each of which was organized by Buddhist, Islamic and Christian religious institutions. The study shows thee alternative of Optimistic Realistic Scenario, Pessimistic Realistic Scenario and Most Probable Scenario on scenario education in B.E. 2562 (2019) by these religious institution. There are two main phase of the study. For the first phase, the study showed the analysis of non-formal and informal education organized by religious educators in Bangkok Metropolitan and vicinity in the present by 23 purposive samples of people collected from each religious institution. Data were collected by a questionnaire, interviewing and observing. For the second phase, an Ethnographic Future Research (EFR) by purposive samples of 18 experts were designed to study future scenarios of Non-formal Education and Informal Education program of three religions with three scenarios in optimistic, pessimistic and the most realistic scenario in B.E. 2562 (2019). The results of the first phase; due to the application of Dhamma, there were various Dhamma, applied to organizational education by Buddhist Institutions. Islamic Institutions have only one philosophy, that is education life-long, from birth to death. As for Christian Institutions, their philosophy is to create good human beings. According to Boyle's other concept of the program, all religious Institutions are not different. Most of them are institutional program. The results of the second phase are as follows; the experts agreed that there would be non-formal and informal organized by religious institutions in according with the national Education Act B.E. 2542 (1999) in 2019. The religions institution would become community's center and more people would participate in education programs. For the Pessimistic Realistic Scenario, the religious institutes would think that educational programs are not their duty. For the Most Probable Scenario religious institution would still organize non-formal and informal education and the education programs would be developed and would progress more if the government provided sufficient assistances
