Abstract:
The purposes of this study were to obtain expert's opinions regarding the utilization of educational fieldtrip for environmental education and to propose the utilization of educational fieldtrip model for environmental education instruction in secondary schools. The samples were 24 experts in environmental education instruction and fieldtrip. The methodology used to generate group consensus was the three rounds of Delphi Technique. The research instrument consisted of three questionnaires. The collected data were analyzed by median and interquartile range. The results revealed that: 1. The 132 items of group consensus from 156 items were considered a model for the utilization of educational fieldtrip for environmental education instruction. 2. The model comprised of nine steps: 2.1 Determine content: The most appropriate content for environmental fieldtrip should be based on environmental education in lower secondary education curriculum emphasized on content with practical skills. 2.2 State objectives: Fieldtrip objectives should include three basic objectives of environmental education in lower secondary school: cognitive learning, affective learning psychomotor learning. 2.3 Prepare location: Select appropriate location and prepare location for effective use. 2.4 Prepare instructor: Instructors should prepare themselves for administration tasks and general tasks; motivate learners for learning; and set safety standard. 2.5 Prepare learner: Learners should be prepared in general aspects; required learning skills; and instructional media. 2.6 Conduct activities: Fieldtrip activities including instructor and learner activities. 2.7 Summarize lesson: Let learners summarize their knowledge and skills from fieldtrip. 2.8 Evaluate fieldtrip: Assess learners' learning achievement according to three domains of objective. 2.9 Conduct follow-up activities: Let learners implement their knowledge and skills from fieldtrip in the environmental activities in school and community
