Abstract:
This project presents an automatic parking-area management system using
Radio-Frequency Identification technology (RFID). The parking area in the 3B floor of SM
Building, Bangkok, was used to simulate the system. The frequency used in this project
is 13.56 MHz.
This project was intended to automate the management of parking area by
tracing in-comings and out-going of automobiles. Time in finding a free parking lot is
abridged because of the panel displaying the number of free lots in each floor. The
system insures the parking-area safety by recording incoming automobiles, license
plates, and date/time. These records are summarized by the system providing reports
and graphs for further executive decision.
The system was developed using Borland C++ Builder 6.0. MySQL, a state-ofthe-
art, stable, secured, open-sourced database management system, was used. The
system was designed by the client/server paradigm. A specialized interface module
between the database management system and the RFID hardware is developed.
