Abstract:
The purposes of this research were to study of needs and to compare the sex education curriculum and teaching methodology required by teachers and students of secondary schools level 3 and level 4 classified by students genders, students classroom levels, working experiences of teachers, and types of school staff.
The samples of this study included 253 teachers, 385 secondary school students at level 3 and 341 secondary school students at level 4 in Chanthaburi Educational Service. The samples were drawn using multistage sampling. The instrument used to collect the data for the research was rating scale questionaires about the sex education curriculum and teaching methodology in secondary schools. The data were analyzed by utilizing a computerized statistical program to compute percentage, mean and standard deviation. The significance of the data obtained from the two groups was generated from t-test.
The results of the research revealed that : 1) The needs of the school teachers for the sex education curriculum and teaching methodology required by teachers and students in secondary schools level 3 and level 4 in Chanthaburi Educational Service were at a high level. 2) The comparison of the sex education curriculum and teaching methodology required by students in secondary schools level 3 and level 4 in Chanthaburi Educational Service classified by students genders and students classroom levels were significantly different at .05 level. 3) The comparison of the sex education curriculum and teaching methodology required by teachers in secondary schools level 3 and level 4 in Chanthaburi Educational Service classified by working experiences of teachers were significantly different at .05 level. 4) The comparison of the sex educationcurriculum and teaching methodology required by teachers and students in secondary schoolsleve 3 and level 4 in Chanthaburi Educational Service classified by types of school staff were significantly different at .05 level.
