Developing Strategic Management Guideline for Vocal Music Teaching in the Classroom for Junior Middle School Students at Hong Xinglong Middle School, China
Abstract:
The purposes of this study were: 1) to explore the problems and needs for improving vocal skills, and 2) to develop strategic management guidelines to enhance vocal music teaching in the classroom for junior middle school students. The research samples of this survey included 165 teachers and 336 students. The five-point rating scale was employed to assess the problems and needs of research respondents. The collected data and information were analyzed, explained, and expressed in terms of frequency, percentage, mean, and standard deviation. The research findings of this study were as follows: 1) the problems and needs of vocal skills were at the "highest' level; 1.1) strategic vocal music education can help junior middle school students cope with academic stress, 1.2) strategic vocal music education can enhance leadership potential in junior middle school students, 1.3) strategic vocal music education should be aligned with the overall academic plan of the schools, 1.4) strategic vocal music education can enhance the creative thinking of junior middle school students, 1.5) students have higher demands for active participation and initiative in strategic vocal music education, 1.6) teachers and administrators have sufficient awareness leadership on strategic vocal music education; and 2) the strategic management guidelines to enhance vocal music teaching in the classroom for junior middle school students included 2.1) reviewing literature on vocal education, strategic management, and teaching strategies for junior high school students, and 2.2) identifying key principles and practices that should be included in this guide. 2.3) enhancing students' vocal skills by comprehensive analyzing the problems and needs currently faced by students in the school, 2.4) integrating the language education theories and practices, 2.5) proposing practical strategies and methods, 2.6) providing a framework for teachers to plan, implement, and evaluate their teaching strategies for enhancing students' learning experience, 2.7) incorporating best practices in vocal education and considering the unique needs of middle school students, 2.8) helping teachers create a supportive and participatory learning environment that promotes the growth and development of music. The opinions of experienced vocal teachers from Hong Xinglong Middle School would be sought to ensure that the implementation of this strategic management guidelines in the classroom was relevant and practical
