Abstract: The automatic machine running industrial production line, with 3 main processes both loading and unloading processes in consecutive, faces a difficulty in working processes between machine and operators. Since the whole process is conducted by workers and require several procedures, this leads to the delay and inefficiency of the production line. The number of workers is demanded in direct variation with production intensity, leading to higher cost. In order to increase efficiency of the machine and reduce procedure of workers, this research aims to propose an Automatic Workpiece Changer System (AWCs) to work in current with CNC Machining Center. The study and analysis of tasks throughout the process, bring about the design specification to apply in a systematic approach in engineering design. The black-box diagram is used in the analysis of functions and sub-functions of the system, and also their interconnection, which will be transformed to the design specification. Then the alternative design concepts are generated and illustrated in the morphological chart, in which the most suitable concept will be selected and used to create the prototype. In conclusion, the AWCs consist of 5 modules; Tray in, Gripper, Tightening, Fixture, and Tray out, 6 tasks of workers are transferred to the machine.
