Abstract:
This research aimed to study the influence of child behaviours, parenting perfectionism, and emotion regulation on parental burnout among parents with children aged 6-17 years in Chiang Mai Province, selected using purposive sampling, with a total of 427 participants. Data collection included the Parental Burnout Assessment, The Strength and Difficulties Questionnaires (SDQ), The Multidimensional Perfectionism Scale, and Emotional Regulation Questionnaires, all of which are collected through an online system Statistical analyses included descriptive statistics and path analysis The results showed that after model adjustment, the developed model fit the empirical data well, with the following fit indices: Chi-square statistics: χ² = 2.124, df, χ²/df = 1.062, RMSEA = 0.012, SRMR = 0.022, GFI = 0.998, AGFI = 0.988, and CN = 1848.482. All path coefficients were statistically significant at the 0.05 level. It was found that child behaviours and parenting perfectionism had a direct influence on parental burnout, with influence values of 0.27 and 0.13, respectively. Additionally, emotion regulation had no influence on parental burnout. It was also found that child behaviours and parenting perfectionism can explain 11% of the variance in parental burnout.
