Development of a data visualization indicator reporting system report on performance of target level indicators of the higher education development plan KMUTNB
Abstract:
This research aimed to develop a dashboard-based data visualization reporting system for performance indicators aligned with the target-level indicators of the 13th Higher Education Development Plan (20232027) for King Mongkuts University of Technology North Bangkok (KMUTNB) and to evaluate the systems effectiveness from the executives and end users. The research framework was based on the PDCA cycle (Deming Cycle), a quality management methodology, and consisted of four stages: (1) Plan (P): analyzing executive requirements and selecting appropriate development tools; (2) Do (D): analyzing, designing, and developing the dashboard-based data visualization reporting system; (3) Check (C): testing system effectiveness by presenting FY2024 performance reports to the Policy and Planning Committee for review and conducting a satisfaction assessment; and (4) Act (A): enhancing the system based on feedback for future application in monitoring FY2025 performance. The results revealed that the system accurately presented performance reports according to executive requirements, supporting the universitys operational planning. Executives and end users expressed the highest level of satisfaction with the systems overall effectiveness. (𝑥̅=4.58, S.D.=0.50). Based on the findings, the system will be refined and utilized for continuous performance monitoring and planning in subsequent fiscal years.
