Abstract:
Personal and Professional development of teachers. It is the duty of the teacher to study,
develop skills, processes. To plan for personal and professional development make progress.
The purposes of this study were (1) to study the current situations and desirable situations
conditions of personal and professional development of teachers in schools under The Secondary
Educational Service Area Office Nakhon Phanom; and (2) to assessment of needs of personal and
professional development of teachers in schools under The Secondary Educational Service Area
Office Nakhon Phanom. The samples were 329 school teachers. The sample size determination
using a percentage basis and they were selected by stratified random sampling, according to the size
of the school. There were 2 instruments used in this study : (1) checklist is the current situations
of personal and professional development of teachers with the index of item objective congruence
(IC) .60-1.00 , the discrimination between .43-.81, and the reliability of .97; and (2) checklist
is thedesirable situations conditions of personal and professional development of teachers with
the index of item objective congruence (IC) .60-1.00 , the discrimination between .36-.72 , and
the reliability of .95. The statistics employed were percentage, mean and standard deviation and
modified priority needs index.
The result were as follows : Overall current situations of personal and professional
development of teachers were at the high level, and overall desirable situations conditions of
personal and professional development of teachers were at the most level. And (2) The needs
that have with the highest average, the top 2 are Participation and leadership in the exchange
of professional learning, andPutting knowledge and skills to good use
