The Impact of digital economy on China's coastal foreign trade-mediation effect based on e-commerce and urbanization level
Abstract:
This study aims to systematically analyze the direct impact of the digital economy on foreign trade in China's coastal regions and explore the mediating roles of e-commerce and urbanization levels in this process, thereby revealing the underlying mechanisms of influence. To test the research hypotheses, this paper constructs panel data models, econometric models, and mediation effect models, and employs robustness tests, endogeneity tests, and heterogeneity analysis to ensure the scientific rigor and reliability of the regression results. The results indicate that the digital economy not only has a significant positive impact on foreign trade but also exerts partial mediating effects through e-commerce and urbanization levels, respectively. Additionally, the study incorporates regional heterogeneity analysis, revealing that the promotional effect of the digital economy on foreign trade is more pronounced in the Pearl River Delta region, reflecting the interactive relationship between regional development foundations and the effects of the digital economy.
