Analysis of the potential of local administrative organizations and communities to cooperate in planning tourism development Chiang Dao subdistrict, Chiang Dao district, Chiang Mai province
Abstract:
This research aims to analyze the organizational potential for tourism development and study the collaborative tourism development planning between Chiang Dao Subdistrict Municipality and Chiang Dao Subdistrict Administrative Organization. The significance of this research is to understand the potential of local administrative organizations in sustainable community tourism development. The tools used in the study and the sample groups include (1) in-depth interviews with 16 stakeholders, including executives, officials, community leaders, and local council members from both Chiang Dao Subdistrict Municipality and Chiang Dao Subdistrict Administrative Organization, and (2) a questionnaire survey to assess public attitudes towards the collaboration between the two organizations, with 222 respondents calculated using the Taro Yamane method. The study found that executives and officials from both organizations believe they have sufficient potential to collaborate on tourism development in terms of personnel, area, and budget. Both organizations can effectively exchange resources and roles in their collaborative work. Community leaders and local council members also view the two organizations as having the potential to develop tourism together effectively. Recommendations for Chiang Dao Subdistrict Municipality and Chiang Dao Subdistrict Administrative Organization include collaborating on other areas such as infrastructure and economy to ensure comprehensive development.
