The electrical characteristics of pencils affecting the human body
Abstract:
This research study the effect of pencil electrical
characteristic to human body. The resistance, resistivity and
conductivity are parameters for testing the 10 types of pencil.
By the length of pencil separated 3 parts for measuring are
5cm, 10cm and 15cm. and final part for testing is used the
15cm of pencil connect to the standard human body (SHB)
circuit for measure the current flow though pencil in 2
conditions were the SHB circuit with moisture and without
moisture. From result found that the resistance and
conductivity have maximum values were 91Ω and 35758 S/m at
4H and 5B types of pencil respectively. Then, the maximum
resistivity was 2.88 mΩ/m at the 4H of pencil. The current
values of pencil on the SHB circuit with moisture has
maximum about 370 mA to 385 mA at the 4H to 5B types of
pencil. Conclusion, the most effect from electrical
characteristic of pencil to human body was the SHB with
moisture condition because the current level of results has the
dangerous to human body in zone 5.
