Abstract:
This thesis is of 3 objectives: 1) to study the communication concepts according to the Buddhist principles and the Digital media communication 2) to study the forms of Dhamma communication via digital media of Wat Rampeng (Tapotaram) Chiang Mai Province and 3) to analyze the forms of the digital media communication of Wat Rampeng (Tapotaram), Chiang Mai Province.
It is a qualitative research by primary collecting data from documents and the information media of Wat Ramping having supplemented by the in-depth interview the key informants about 40 people; the service providers and users by the purposive method.
The results are found that : The use of language for communication in Buddhism is popularly used the universal language which was widely used by people. In the Buddhas time, the Buddha communicated with Magadhi in order to easily communicate Dharma to the public. So the digital communication should focus on a language that is easy to understand, being accessible to the public. It includes language development for communicating with people around the world by a universal language adding with the use of various teaching techniques such as story-telling, comparison with parables, use of teaching materials in conversation, lecture and question-answer.
The forms of Dhamma communication via digital media of Wat Rampeng (Tapotaram) Chiang Mai, are of 7 channels: facebook, youtube, twitter, Instagram, soundcloud and 2 channels of Website, which are: one is .com type and another is a type of .org. The most popular channel is facebook, because it is the most used channel by people. However, there are many social media behaviors in the world. In the future, it should expand the channels of social platforms that are answering the use of over the world people.
The analysis on the digital communication forms of Wat Ram Poeng (Tapotaram) is found that it was consistent with the Buddhist communicative concept, namely the use of language and media easily to understand and accessible to the public and composed of the various channels. it has no any limitation both on travel and time. It offers to the interested people to reach the useful Dharma media according to their opportunity and time. It is also publicized the useful news on the fast, and up to date.
There is a system for tracking those who follow, watch and comment on various fields. This is sed to develop and improve. For the future, there should be expansion of digital media channel in the form of AR (Augmented Reality) that can be applied to display virtual images of the Dharma practicing models as a learning media that is attractive of the new generation youths attention.
The application of VR (Virtual Reality) technology into Dhamma practice is to reduce the distant traveling and learning for the physically challenged people or the personal needs. It is as well as reducing problems in building spaces and utilities of the temple. It is an optional that fits with the current situation in the world which is now facing the problem of pandemic disease. Moreover, this information technology will be a form of human spiritual development in the future.
