Abstract: The primary aim of this research was to explore the career development status of nursing graduates in vocational colleges. This research was carried out because the nursing graduates of higher vocational colleges are restricted by many factors such as the government, hospitals, and colleges in the employment process, and their career development encounters difficulties. Therefore, this study mainly aimed to examine the following research problems: First, it intended to identify the current situation of career development among nursing graduates in higher vocational colleges. Second, it investigated factors influencing career development of nursing graduates in higher vocational colleges. The sample was drawn from the 2019 nursing graduates in Weifang Nursing Vocational using non-random sampling, the convenience sampling method. These nursing graduates voluntarily participated in the research and accepted their participation in the research consent form. The researcher collected data using a questionnaire, the topics asked were about many factors affected their professional development and employability such as government, hospitals, and colleges, factor into the hiring process, and career development faces difficulties. The results of this study indicated that government employment policy, teaching program management, and employability development were the key factors influencing the career development of nursing graduates in higher vocational colleges. Based on the results, to achieve sustainable professional development, the government should increase employment efficiency and adjust employment policies accordingly. To be consistent with career growth, educational institutions and nursing colleges should enhance their teaching and learning management systems to align with employment policies and employment needs.
