Abstract:
The purposes of this study were: 1)To study the factors related to the decision to take the entrance exam for the 28th Army Non-Commissioned Officer School in the academic year 2024; 2)To compare personal factors, including place of residence, family economic status (monthly income), and personal monthly income before taking the entrance exam; 3)To study the decision to take the entrance exam for the Non-Commissioned Officer School; 4)To study the factors in terms of needs and expectations that affect the decision to take the entrance exam for the 28th Army Non-Commissioned Officer School in the academic year 2024. This research is quantitative, using questionnaires as a research tool. The research population includes the 28th class of the Army Non-Commissioned Officer School in the academic year 2024 under the 3rd Student Battalion, 2nd and 4th Student Company, totaling 327 personnel. The research studied all personnel consisting of those who are already military personnel as well as civilians nationwide.
The major findings were: 1)Attitude factors were related to the decision to take the entrance exam for the 28th Army Non-Commissioned Officer School, Academic Year 2024, with most expressing that the Army Non-Commissioned Officer School uniform is honorable and elegant; 2) Factors affecting the decision to take the entrance exam for the 28th Army Non-Commissioned Officer School, Academic Year 2024 include needs and expectations. Most believed that a military career provides security for the family in case of emergency, illness, disability or death. Both factors have a positive relationship with the decision to take the entrance exam for the 28th Army Non-Commissioned Officer School, Academic Year 2024, with statistical significance at the 0.05 level. However, in terms of personal factors, including place of residence, family income status (per month), personal income before becoming an Army Non-Commissioned Officer School and status before becoming an Army Non-Commissioned Officer School, the results of the study found no statistical significance.
