Abstract:
Chaiyaphum province encountered with a severe flooding, especially in municipality in which major rivers flowing through such as Huai Saew, the middle of Lam Pa Town and Huai Din Daeng. In 2017, When Huai Din Daeng ( KM.38+458 ) has a maximum discharge is 100.712 m3 /s, it made the water level in Huai Saew, the middle Lam Pa Town and Huai Din Daeng overflow into Chaiyaphum town. However, if there is a careful monitoring and the morphology of the Upper Chi River basin and to analyzing appropriate alternative scenarios deal with flooding problem and providing an appropriate recommendation, frequent flooding and the damage would be reduced. In this study, it was aimed to simulate the flow models of MIKE11. For the flooding in 2017, it was found that a maximum discharge in Huai Saew, the middle of Lum Pa Town and Huai Din Daeng are equal to 81.114 m3 /s, 16.587 m3 /s and 7.0 m3 /s respectively, which exceed the capacity of the river, causing water to overflow and flood widely into the community area of Chaiyaphum and using the MIKE FLOOD model is to assess flood risk at return periods. Community area are at risk of floods that occur annually for return period 25 years 50 years 100 years there were 20.25 square kilometers, 32.27 square kilometers, 42.81 square kilometers respectively, of flood risk areas. It covers the area of Mueang Chaiyaphum districts which are Nai Mueang District, Phon Thong Mueang District, Ban Lao Mueang District, Rop Mueang District, Nong Na Saeng District and Kut Tum District.
