Arthropod-borne viruses (Arbovirus) are viruses transmitted to vertebrate hosts by hematophagous arthropod vectors, most commonly mosquito, flies and ticks mainly during blood feeding. Mosquito-borne Flavivirus is one of the arboviruses of public health importance. Aedes spp and Culex spp are the principal mosquito vectors for flaviviruses. This study investigated the molecular detection of flavivirus and mosquito species composition from three zoological parks: Dusit, Khon Kaen and Chiang Mai. A total of 497 mosquitoes was collected and identified into species. A total RNA from 100 mosquito pools was extracted and amplified using RT-PCR technique to detect flavivirus. Mosquito species such as Culex spp, Aedes spp, Anopheles spp, Armigeres spp, Mansonia spp and Toxorhynchites spp were identified. Culex spp was the most trapped species among three zoos. Four mosquito pools from Ae.albopictus, Aedes spp, Armigeres spp and Mansonia spp showed positive for dengue virus. Among the positive results, some results showed controversial results because of uncertainty between mosquito vectors and pathogens. It can only be assumed that flavivirus is circulating in these three selected zoos. The Minimum Infection Rate from three zoological parks ranged.
