The Effects of Service Quality and Quality Management on Service Performance of Road Transportation Business : Client and Provider Perspectives in Thailand
Abstract:
The main goal of this study is to increase the efficiency in performance of road transportation business under the influence of service quality and quality management from the perspectives of Thai logistics service providers and customers by finding causal relationship models that affect the increase in efficiency in performance of transport logistics. They will be used as guidelines for improving service quality and quality management in accordance with ISO 9001:2015 standards, leading to increased efficiency in transport logistics as a crucial mechanism for enhancing and improving service operations that exceed customer expectations. This research used a mixed-methods approach, starting with the analysis of both quantitative and qualitative data. The data was collected through research questionnaires and semi-structured interviews with logistics service providers and customers.
According to the results of both quantitative and qualitative research data, the Thai road transportation logistics business has established good relationships with its customers. It has implemented the principles of the 7 Rights of Logistics and SERVQUAL, which balance the satisfaction of both logistics service providers and their recipients. Additionally, the use of quality management methods within the business organization, including planning, operating, monitoring, and controlling the relevant activities, was managed in accordance with quality management system standards.
Ultimately, the quality of customer service and qualified management provided within the organization were crucial factors for successful business management. They could build confidence related to the service quality and operation adhering to transportation service standards in terms of accurate and comprehensive service, in addition to a well-managed organization, which is a vital basis of the transportation business.
