Transformational Leadership of Administrators in the New Normal Era Affecting the Effectiveness of Teacher Performance in the Educational Opportunity Extension Schools under Sakon Nakhon Primary Educational Service Area Office 1
Abstract:
The purposes of this research were to examine, compare, and determine the relationship, identify the predictive power, and establish guidelines for developing transformational leadership of administrators in the new normal era affecting the effectiveness of teacher performance in the Educational Opportunity Extension Schools under Sakon Nakhon Primary Educational Service Area Office 1. The sample consisted of 300 participants, including 65 administrators and 235 teachers from 65 schools under Sakon Nakhon Primary Educational Service Area Office 1, in the 2024 academic year. The sample size was determined using the Krejcie and Morgan table and selected through multi-stage random sampling. The tools for data collection were questionnaires and interview forms. The questionnaires assessing transformational leadership of administrators in the new normal era had the discriminative power ranging from 0.361 to 0.762 and the reliability of 0.952, and another one measuring the effectiveness of teacher performance had the discriminative power ranging from 0.495 to 0.852 and the reliability of 0.935. Statistics for data analysis were frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, t-test for Independence Samples, One-Way ANOVA, Pearsons product-moment correlation coefficient, and Stepwise multiple regression analysis.
The findings were as follows:
1. The transformational leadership of administrators in the new normal era was at a high level overall.
2. The effectiveness of teacher performance was at a high level overall.
3. The transformational leadership of administrators in the new normal era, as perceived by participants positions, showed a difference at the .01 level of significance overall, and no difference was found in terms of school location overall.
4. The effectiveness of teacher performance, in terms of positions and school location, showed no difference overall.
5. The transformational leadership of administrators in the new normal era (X) and the effectiveness of teacher performance (Y) had a positive relationship at the .01 level of significance with a high level of correlation (rXtYt=0.753**).
6. The transformational leadership of administrators in the new normal era was able to predict the effectiveness of teacher performance at the .01 level of significance. The said variables comprising technology utilization to support and promote intellectual stimulation (X6), individual consideration in the transition to the new normal era (X3), and having a vision that keeps pace with change (X1), could predict the effectiveness of school administration at 57.40 percent with the standard error of estimate of ±0.290.
7. The proposed guidelines for developing transformational leadership of administrators in the new normal era that affected the effectiveness of teacher performance encompassed three aspects: 1) Technology Utilization to Support and Promote Intellectual Stimulation, by providing training on digital technology skills to stay updated with technology and creating innovations; 2) Individual Consideration in the Transition to the New Normal by recognizing individual differences, and fostering individual development appropriately to suit their needs and abilities to maximize benefits; and 3) Having a Vision that Keeps Pace with Change by adjusting the vision to be modern, clear, and flexible, applying technology to keep up with change.
