The improvement of alarm process in mobile networks
Abstract:
TOT Public Company Limited is a state-owned enterprise in Thailand that provides telecommunication services to meet the most satisfaction needs of its clients. The company has three missions of doing business: creating innovations to enhance customer service, providing quality service, and being a key mechanism in driving society and the economy towards the digital age. One of the business units in the company is the Wireless Communication Service that provides mobile signal services with two job processes: monitoring and reporting damages in the network (notification) and maintenance and amplification of signal quality. In the notification process, the incident report was recorded only on a paper form and forwarded via e-mail, causing duplication of work and resulting in delays. The company's email submission also causes a loss of data. As a result, tracking and verification were difficult. As the problem mentioned, the researcher aimed to analyze by using the framework of Enterprise Architectures practice. The emphasis is based on business architecture, information architecture, application architecture, and technology architecture concepts. This led to the development of a system called the Trouble Ticket System, a Web-Application which has been used to manage the notification to be effective. Moreover, it reduced time and redundancy in reporting failures. The system reduced the time to complete the report to 3 minutes with an accuracy of more than 95%, and it also reduced the notification time to 5 minutes according to the requirements and standards of the Service Level Agreement (SLA). The company also reduced the searching time to only 3 minutes which helped to increase the efficiency of mobile services to the company as well.
