Abstract:
The purpose of this study was to evaluate the results of care for sepsis patients at the emergency room. The study design was retrospective cross-sectional study. The sample were 86 patients who diagnosis with sepsis (ICD10code: J12-18) that received treatment at emergency room in Sunpasitthiprasong Hospital between March-May 2021. Data recording tools consisted of general information, result and treatment which review and search past medical records in the hospital database system. Descriptive statistics were used for analysis including percentages, means, medians. The analytical statistics analyzed with Multiple Logistics Regression. Results of the study found that the sample was mostly male 60.47%, aged over 60 years 54.66%, had underlying diseases 55.81%, severe illness 73.62%, on endotracheal tube 97.68%. There were received adequate fluids 86.50%, respiratory tract infection 88.37%, received Inotrope 31.40%, admitted to intensive care unit 85.19%. The arterial blood gas results were abnormal 68.61% and average APACHE score was 23.63 (S.D.=6.64). Outcome found septic shock 50%, respiratory failure 22.09%, acute kidney injury 50.00%,death rate 32.56% and average length of stay 10.62 days (S.D.=5.61). The factor associated with death was septic shock that adjusted OR was 8.210 (95% CI 1.48-45.42, pvalue .016).
