Abstract:
This research was a quasi-experimental study with a pretest-posttest control group design. The study aimed to investigate the effectiveness of caregiver skills training programs for promoting fine motor in children with developmental delay who received a service at Rajanagarindra Institute of Child Development. A total of 60 caregivers, 30 in the control group and 30 in the experimental group, were sequentially sampled as participants. The experimental group participated in a 6-week, 2030-minute per week, online training program via Facebook., while the control group received only routine care. The participants in the experimental group performed tasks in the program and responded to the researcher via video recording. The questionnaire for collecting demographic data and assessing knowledge and self-efficacy perception and satisfaction survey was administered. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and paired difference test. The study results showed that: 1. knowledge score after receiving the training program was significantly higher than before training (p<0.001) ; 2. self-efficacy perception score was also significantly higher (p<0.001) 3. the participants in the experimental group were satisfied in all 3 aspects ; information/content, appropriateness of activities, and video materials. This study provided an effective online caregiver training program for promoting fine motor development of children with delayed development. This program could be applied to designing further online training programs for promoting child development and health.
