Abstract:
This research aimed to 1) to study the development of scientific literacy of grade 6 students before and after learning by STEM education overlap Socio-Scientific Issue in the topic greenhouse effect. 2) to compare the science literacy of grade 6 students before and after the learning by STEM education overlapping Socio-Scientific Issue in the topic greenhouse effect. The research design was One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The sample consisted of sixth grade students primary schools in Chun 2 School Group under the Phayao Primary Educational Service Area Office 2 Semester 2, Academic Year 2023 total 32 students. by a cluster sampling technique. The research instruments consisted of 1) the lesson plans toward the STEM education overlaps Social-Science Issue learning 2) The scientific competency test and 3) The attitudes towards science assessment. The data was analyzed using average, percentage, standard deviation, and dependent sample t-test. The research results were found as follows; 1) The effects of the study on the development of scientific literacy of grade 6 students before and after learning by STEM education overlap Socio-Scientific Issue in the topic greenhouse effect. Found as students' scientific literacy after learning was at level 3, with a mean percentage of 58.97, When considering the list of scientific competencies, it was found that with the highest mean score in the ability to explain scientific phenomena and students' attitudes towards science after studying at a high level. with the highest mean score in environmental awareness. 2) The comparison effects of the scientific literacy of grade 6 students before and after learning by STEM education overlapping Socio-Scientific Issue in the topic greenhouse effect. Found as students' science literacy and students' attitudes towards science after learning was significantly higher than before learning at a statistical significance level of 0.05
