Factors affecting employee loyalty among engineering employees in Thailand
Abstract:
Based on the economic downturn in Thailand between 2023 and 2025. A further approach to promote economic growth is to get the private sector involved in the government's development plans for the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC). Engineering is one of the professions that helps other industries and large-scale projects succeed. The country's economic growth and these projects are mostly driven by the engineering sector. Considering the significance of this position, engineering team members' loyalty will contribute to the development of sustainable businesses, sectors of the economy, and ultimately reduce the organization's investment costs. Therefore, the study's objectives are to evaluate and diagnose the current state of employee loyalty among engineering workers in Thailand, investigate the relationships between job design, social relationships, work environment, compensation, and employee loyalty, and offer relevant suggestions to the engineering business for improving employee loyalty. The study was carried out in 2023 during February until September. In this study, 443 engineering employees in Thailand were studied. Cluster sampling was used as the data collecting method, and the sample size was determined using the Taro Yamane formula. A questionnaire survey was utilized to collect primary data, which was subsequently analyzed using the SPSS software. Multiple regression analysis and Pearson's correlation were used in the study to examine the outcome. The findings indicate that among Thai engineering employees, job design, social relationships, work environment, and compensation have a significant and moderately positive correspond with employee loyalty. Which job design variable was most positively correlated with employee loyalty, with a Pearson's correlation coefficient of 0.611. Subsequently in that order, are compensation, relationships, and work environment. In summary, every organization can utilize the findings to promote employee loyalty and address workers' requirements according to their priorities in terms of job design, compensation, social relationships, and work environment, correspondingly, as appropriate
