Abstract:
The purpose of this cross-sectional descriptive study is to identify the determinants that influence the health promotion behavior of patients in the Lo Subdistrict of the Chun District in Phayao Province who have been infected with COVID-19. Applying a multistage sampling technique, the sample group comprised 276 patients who were exposed to COVID-19. Questionnaires were employed as research instruments during the period spanning from April 1, 2023, to June 30, 2023. Descriptive and multiple regression statistics were employed in the data analysis, utilizing the Enter method. The study's findings revealed that 69.20% of the sample consisted of females, with an average age of 51.80 years. 73.60% had long COVID-19, with fatigue being the prevailing manifestation. There were statistically significant influences on patients' health promotion behavior following COVID-19 infection, including health literacy (Beta=0.288), perceived barrier to action (Beta=0.177), perceived self-efficacy (Beta=0.241), and activity-related affect (Beta=-0.118) and interpersonal influences (Beta=0.229), the combined effect of these variables may predict 57.60% of the health promotion behaviors exhibited by patients following COVID-19 infection. The findings should inform the development of a health promotion program for patients in the area under investigation who have contracted COVID-19.
