Abstract:
This research aimed at studying the peoples satisfaction towards public service of Mai Ya municipality, Phaya Meng Rai District, Chiang Rai Province. The objectives were: 1) to study the level of satisfaction of the people in using the service of Mai Ya municipality, Phaya Meng Rai District, Chiang Rai Province; 2) to study the factors that affect the satisfaction of the people in the service of Mai Ya municipality, Phaya Meng Rai District, Chiang Rai Province; and 3) to suggest guideline to enhance satisfaction in the service of the Mai Ya municipality, Phaya Meng Rai District, Chiang Rai Province. The study adopted the quantitative research design method where primary data were collected from 385 respondents in 18 villages in Mai Ya municipality. The statistical formulas used were frequencies and percentages as well as Chi- square test to find the relationships among variables. The direction of the relationships active through Gamma correlation coefficient which was 0.05 level of significance.
It was found that most people in the study were satisfied at the high satisfaction level with all 4 aspects of service system of public work service provided by Mai Ya municipality, Phaya Meng Rai District, Chiang Rai Province. The aspect that people were most satisfied with was the facilities (Mean = 3.89), followed by the officers service (Mean= 3.82), the service process (Mean = 3.77) and service (Mean = 3.76) respectively. Occupation and income significantly correlated with peoples satisfaction towards public work service. But age, gender and education were significantly correlated with peoples satisfaction towards public work service.
It was suggested that if the Municipality of Mai Ya wanted to range the level of satisfaction of the people who use the service, they should improve the quality of service to meet good standards by applying technology to service and reduce various workflow procedures which should be easier to understand, convenient and more conducive to the elderly who were the age group that used the service of Mai Ya Municipality the most. Suggestions for further research were that there should be continuously evaluation of the satisfaction of people who use the services of Mai Ya Municipality, request municipal services and use the information for improvement. Comparison with other municipalities in similar areas should be studied in order to gather ideas, problems and solutions to problems to improve municipal services, leading to greater efficiency and effectiveness.
