Abstract:
The purposes of this research article were to: 1) study the current and desirable conditions of teachers competency in classroom management under the Sa Kaeo Educational Service Area Office 1; 2) develop a program to enhance teachers competency on classroom management for schools under Sa Kaeo Primary Educational Service Area Office 1; 3) try out the teachers competency enhancement program for classroom management in schools under the Office of Sa Kaeo Primary Educational Service Area Office 1; and 4) prepare a manual for the development of a program for enhancing teachers competency on classroom management in schools under the Office of Sa Kaeo Primary Educational Service Area 1.
The target group was 30 primary school teachers under Sa Kaeo Primary Educational Service Area Office 1 who voluntarily participated in the experiment using the teachers competency program. The tools used to collect data were questionnaires, assessment forms, and tests. Statistics used in analyzing data were percentage, mean, standard deviation, need index, and t-test.
According to the research findings, it was found that: 1) the overall current condition of the classroom management competency was at a high level but the overall desirable condition of the classroom administration competency was at the highest level, 2) there were 4 components and 23 indicators of classroom administrative competency confirmed by experts which were appropriate at a high level, 3) the evaluation results of the developed program to enhance the classroom management competency were at the highest level, and 4) the result of the application of the program revealed that the knowledge test results on the competency of classroom management before the development had an average of 11. 66, representing 58. 3 percent, and the score after
developing the competency of classroom management had an average of 17. 1, representing 85.5 percent. The teachers had the overall classroom management ability at the highest level. The overall satisfaction assessment of the program participants in all aspects was at the highest level.
