Abstract: Hemp (Cannabis sativa L.) is a versatile plant known for its various applications, including its utilization in the cosmetics industry. This study aimed to explore the potential of hemp leaves, a high-yield byproduct of hemp plant harvesting, as a source of bioactive compounds for skincare formulation. Hemp leaves were extracted, and their chemical composition was analyzed through liquid chromatographic-triple quadrupole tandem mass spectrometry method. Additionally, also study on total tannin and flavonoid content which are phytochemical compounds commonly found in plants. Moreover, Antioxidant activities were investigated in this study. The study further formulated a skincare using the hemp leaves extract and evaluated its chemical and physical properties including viscosity, pH, color, and formulated stability. The result show hemp leaves extracts contain cannabidiol (CBD) as the predominant compound, alongside polyphenolic compounds such as flavonoids and tannins, contributing to antioxidant and astringent activities. Skincare formulation incorporating hemp leaves extract exhibited CBD decreased after chemical stability test and it showed viscosity similar to syrup and pH levels close to the skin's pH. Additionally, hemp leaves serum show stability without phase separation observed even after freezing-thawing tests. Even though skincare formulated has changed in color post freeze-thaw test. Finally, the findings of this study highlight that utilizing hemp leaves in cosmetic formulations can significantly increase their value as a valuable ingredient in the cosmetics industry.
