Abstract:
This research aims to study the development of the academic competency according to Iddhipada IV of Phrapariyattidhamma School Educational Personnel, the General Education Section, Group 1 Bangkok, classified by personal status to study the problems and obstacles and guidelines for the development of the academic competency according to Iddhipada IV of educational Personnel. This study takes the form of mixed-methology research. The researcher used regulations and quantitative research methods, as it was a survey research with administrators and teachers, for a total of 184 monks / laypeople. The instruments used to collect data were both closed and open-ended questionnaires with the reliability of 0.98.The statistics, used to analyze the data, were the frequency, percentage, mean and standard deviation and the use of qualitative research methods by in-depth interviews with key informants and then analyzed using descriptive and summary.
The results of this research were as follows:
1.The development of the academic competency according to Iddhipada IV of educational Personnel consisted of 6 aspects, namely, the aspect of curriculum management and learning management, the aspect of learner development, the aspect of inner class management, the aspect of analysis and synthesis and the research to develop learners, the aspect of the teacher leadership and the aspect of building relationships and partnerships with community for learning management. The overall were at the high level with an average of 3.77; when considering each individual aspect, it was found that all aspects were at the high level; the highest value was the aspect of the learner development with an average of 3.88; followed by the aspect of curriculum management and learning management with an average of 3.87 and the lowest was the aspect of building relationships and partnerships with community learning management with an average of 3.62.
2. The problems and obstacles and guidelines for the development of the academic competency according to Iddhipada IV of educational Personnel were found as follows:
The aspect of curriculum management and learning management; problems and obstacles, namely; the objective of the earning management of the curriculum of each class that was defined of the schools, was not clear enough; for this matter there was the suggestion that the schools need to have the objectives clearly defined for the learning management of each curriculum and of each class.
The aspect of learner development; problems and obstacles, namely; the schools had not got any systems to help and develop learners to have quality; for this matter there was the suggestion that the schools should provide a system to care and help more the learners develop them to have the quality and efficiency.
The aspect of inner class management; problems and obstacles, namely; the schools were held inside and outside the class environment that was conducive to learning a little bit; for this matter there was the suggestion that schools should be held inside and outside the class environment that was more conducive to learning for the learners.
The aspect of analysis and synthesis and the research to develop learners; problems and obstacles, namely; the schools lacked analysis and synthesis, and the problematic group arranging of the learners and there was no research to solve the problem of the learners; for this matter there was the suggestion that the school should be collected, classified and grouped the problems of the learners; conduct the research based on the concept, theory and the method to solve problems and develop the learners to have the quality.
The aspect of the teacher leadership; problems and obstacles, namely; the teachers lacked the expertise and core integration; used in the teaching and learning seriously; for this matter there was the suggestion that the schools should recruit teachers who graduate the study at the required fields or expertise in the subjects taught and training to develop knowledge to reinforce the skills of the teachers to integrate learning to the learners effectively.
The aspect of building relationships and partnerships with community for learning management; problems and obstacles, namely; the schools were to create a network of cooperation between teachers, parents, community and other organizations, both public and private sectors to promote a little learning management for the learners; for this matter there was the suggestion that the schools should create a network of cooperation between teachers, parents, community and other organizations, both public and private organizations to promote ongoing learning management for the learners.
3. The results of in-depth interviews about the development of the academic competency according to Iddhipada IV of educational Personnel; from administrators / teachers 20 monks / laypeople were found as follows:
The aspect of curriculum management and learning management is a basic education curriculum in B.E. 2551, namely; the secondary school and high school curriculum. The curriculum structure was organized and defined by the Office of the National Buddhism, called learning management based on the eight strand groups and the additional subjects; as follows: the learning management integrated with local wisdom appropriate to the learners;
The aspect of learner development: the promotional activities of the aspect of ethical virtue; the life skills; the physical and mental health; and the democratization to help the learners conduct themselves in accordance with the descendants of the heir to good religious clerics and assisting the learners by going out to visit the learners and their temples every year.
The aspect of inner class management: The schools had a classroom atmosphere that was appropriate to their learning, provided information, documents of the classes / subjects, had held academic board, established rules and regulations for applying class together.
The aspect of analysis and synthesis and the research to develop learners: the teachers had to identify the problems of the learners and do the research to find ways to help the learner's full learning potential.
The aspect of the teacher leadership was excellent : both teachers were monks and laypeople, had teaching experience, training activities, the psychology of knowledge to the learners, better interaction, responsible for their own obligations, constructive contributions to the open-minded and flexible attitude to accept a variety of others quest for new knowledge to improve the quality of learning.
The aspect of building relationships and partnerships with community for learning management: the schools had established partnerships, building relationships with the community and other organizations both public and private for the promotion of learning as well.
