Abstract:
This research aims to reduce greenhouse gases generated in the production process of wooden pallet of the case study firm. The improvement emphasizes on reducing both production cost and greenhouse gas emissions. After collecting and analyzing data, the problem of excessive waste in pine wood cutting process and electricity consumption were founded. Therefore, two approaches to improve the processes are issued 1) reduction of pine wood waste during the cutting process using linear programming optimization technique 2) conservation of electricity through equipment changing and modification. After implementation, production cost was reduced by 1,121,736 Baht/year and Carbon dioxide emission was reduced by 33,976 kgCO2eq/year.
