Abstract: This study of Additive Manufacturing (AM) utilizes the Double Pulse-Gas Metal Arc Welding process (DP-GMAW). The objective was to quantify the effect of DP-GMAW parameters and determine suitable DP-GMAW conditions for the AM procedure. The methodology had four components. The first was a single-pass build-up study to measure the effect of the six DP-GMAW variables on bead dimensions and a single-bead build-up window that was constructed for the study. Second, a multi-layer build-up study was undertaken to measure the effect of heat condition (J/mm/layer) on the dimensions. The results showed that there was a significant effect on laminate dimension. The third approach was a build-up variable study to determine the effect of build-up path style and layer height (mm) on bead dimensions. The continuous path style was judged to be suitable for the close-figure part. Moreover, the individual path style was found to be acceptable for the open-figure part. It was found that layer height did not affect laminated dimensions significantly. Finally, the process conditions were determined and concluded based on the three studies conducted prior. It was determined to be an additive process procedure for the building up of an aluminum additive layer using DP-GMAW.

Abstract: การศึกษาการผลิตแบบแอดดิทีฟโดยการใช้การเชื่อมก๊าซโลหะปกคลุมด้วยกระแสดับเบิลพัลส์ มีวัตถุประสงค์ในการระบุอิทธิพลของตัวแปรการเชื่อมก๊าซโลหะปกคลุมด้วยกระแสดับเบิลพัลส์ และระบุชุดพารามิเตอร์ที่เหมาะสมเพื่อใช้ในขั้นตอนการผลิตแบบแอดดิทิฟ ซึ่งการศึกษาประกอบด้วยสี่ส่วนหลัก คือ ส่วนที่หนึ่งการศึกษาการเชื่อมซิงเกิลพาส เพื่อวัดระดับของอิทธิพลของหกตัวแปรจากการเชื่อมก๊าซโลหะปกคลุมด้วยกระแสดับเบิลพัลส์ต่อมิติของชิ้นงานซิงเกิลพาส และเพื่อสร้างผังกระบวนการของการเชื่อมซิงเกิลพาส ส่วนที่สองการศึกษาอิทธิพลของความร้อนนาเข้าต่อมิติของชิ้นงานแอดดิทิฟ ซึ่งพบว่าความร้อนมีผลอย่างมีนัยยะสำคัญต่อมิติของชิ้นงาน ส่วนที่สามการศึกษาตัวแปรแอดดิทิฟ โดยทำการศึกษาอิทธิพลของเส้นทางแอดดิทิฟ และความสูงแอดดิทิฟต่อชั้นที่มีผลต่อมิติของชิ้นงานแอดดิทิฟ ซึ่งพบว่าเส้นทางแบบต่อเนื่องเหมาะสมกับลักษณะชิ้นงานปิด และเส้นทางแบบไม่ต่อเนื่องเหมาะสมกับลักษณะชิ้นงานเปิด ในส่วนความสูงแอดดิทิฟต่อชั้นไม่มีผลต่อมิติของชิ้นงาน และการศึกษาสุดท้ายจะทำการระบุตัวแปรที่เหมาะสม และสรุปโดยใช้หลักฐานการศึกษาก่อนหน้า เพื่อพัฒนาเป็นขั้นตอนสาหรับกระบวนการเชื่อมอลูมิเนียมแบบแอดดิทิฟโดยใช้การเชื่อมก๊าซโลหะปกคลุมด้วยกระแสดับเบิลพัลส์
