Abstract: ปัจจุบันการจัดการคลังสินค้าถือเป็นส่วนหนึ่งในการบริหารต้นทุนโลจิสติกส์ซึ่งแฝงไปด้วยกิจกรรมทางธุรกิจและอุตสาหกรรมส่งผลให้การทำงานและการดำเนินงานด้านโลจิสติกส์ มีความสำคัญ และการทำงานที่ซับซ้อนมากยิ่งขึ้นทำ ให้ปัจจุบันหลายธุรกิจนิยมการใช้บริการของ Third party หรือ Logistics provider มากยิ่งขึ้น ซึ่งธุรกิจที่กล่าวมานั้น มีความเชี่ยวชาญและชำนาญ ในการทำงานด้านโลจิสติกส์และคลังสินค้าและมีความครบวงจร โดยปัจจุบันในหลายธุรกิจนั้นหันมาให้ความสนใจในส่วนของการจัดการคลังสินค้ามากยิ่งขึ้น เพราะถือว่า เป็นต้นทางของการผลิตสินค้าและปลายทางของการส่งออกสินค้าไปยังลูกค้าการจัดการคลังสินค้าที่มีประสิทธิภาพนั้นช่วยให้การทำงานภายในบริษัท เป็นไปได้ง่ายขึ้น และช่วยลดต้นทุนการเก็บสินค้าและประหยัดเวลาในการหาสินค้า หรือการจัดเก็บสินค้า ดังนั้น ถือได้ว่า การจัดการคลังสินค้าเป็นหนึ่งในกิจกรรมพื้นฐานของการขนส่งการดำเนินการจัดการคลังสินค้าที่ประกอบด้วย การรับสินค้าการรวบรวมสินค้าและการจัดจำหน่าย ซึ่งเป็นหน้าที่หลักของความสำคัญของการบริหารคลังสินค้าการจัดการโลจิสติกส์เป็นส่วนหนึ่งของกระบวนการ Supply chain management ซึ่งรวมถึงเรื่อง การวางแผนการดำเนินการการควบคุม การไหลเวียน การจัดเก็บวัสดุสินค้าการบริการและสารสนเทศ อย่างมีประสิทธิภาพและประสิทธิผลจากแหล่งจุดกำเนิดของวัตถุดิบจนถึงจุดบริโภค หรือจุดการใช้งาน เพื่อตอบสนองความต้องการของลูกค้า เป็นกิจกรรมที่มีความเกี่ยวเนื่องกับธุรกิจเกือบทุกประเภท อีกทั้ง เป็นต้น ทุนพื้นฐานที่สำคัญซึ่งกระทบต่อต้นทุนรวมของผลิตภัณฑ์และบริการและการเปรียบเทียบระหว่างปริมาณการสั่งซื้อแบบเดิมกับปริมาณการสั่งซื้อที่เหมาะสม (EOQ) เพื่อหาปริมาณความต้องการ การสั่งซื้อที่เหมาะสม และการทำงานได้อย่างเป็นระบบและมีประสิทธิภาพ
