Abstract:
The study "Construction of the Chong Ethnic in the New Media" aims to 1.Study New Media that reflects the Chong ethnic; 2.Study the Chong Ethnic which was constructed by the New Media. This study is a qualitative research. Based on the "Social Construction of Reality" theory: Reality is created in the social process. Using David K. Berlo's "SMCR" theory in analysising the New Media, according to four basic factors, which are:S-SENDER, MMESSAGE, C-CHANNEL and R-RECEIVER.From the information appearing on the New Media, Chong Ethnic is the indigenous people in the eastern of Thailand, who have the knowledge and ability to live with the nature. Chong ethnic respects and has belief in worshiping the God and ancestor spirits. Nowadays the Chong people had realized the value of the inheritance passed down from their ancestors. They are trying to study ways to rehabilitate, preserve and pass on their culture to live on.
