Abstract:
This research aimed to compare learning achievement of Secondary 1 (Grade 7)
students in Thai Dramatic Arts course of the male characters (Khon Phra Na Phat Dance)
using Harrow's practical skills teaching model between the experimental group of students
who studied using Harrows practical skill teaching model and the control group of students
who studied using traditional instruction.
The sample group consisted of two classes of Secondary 1 (Grade 7) students of
Suphanburi College of Dramatic Arts. The students in each group were mixed with various
skill levels. They were randomly divided into an experimental group of 12 students and a
control group of 12 students. The research instruments were: 1) 8 learning management
plans using Harrow's practical skill teaching model, 2) Na Phat Dance performance test, and
3) practice skill assessment form. The statistics used in data analysis were mean, standard
deviation, independent sample t-test, and dependent sample t-test.
The results of the study revealed that the learning achievement of Secondary 1
(Grade 7) students in Thai Dramatic Arts course of the male characters (Khon Phra Na Phat
Dance) in the 1st and 6th learning management plans of the experimental group after
studying was higher than before studying with the statistical significance at the .001 level and
the practical skill achievement of the experimental group using Harrows teaching model was higher than the control group studied using traditional instruction with the statistical
significance at the .001 level.
