Abstract:
This quality research project was conducted using a mixed-methods approach that combines conversation analysis and narrative approach methodologies. The objectives of the study were: 1) to examine Thongchai McIntyres identity; and 2) to investigate the development of the loyalty of Thongchai McIntyre fan club. The key informants were Thongchai McIntyre, his personal manager, collaborators, and fans, with a total of 37 participants. The findings indicate that Thongchai McIntyre possesses a complete personal brand identity as a singer in all four dimensions, which aligns with Thai culture and value. This is manifested through his works, abilities and identity, and support from his music label. The four dimensions are as follows: 1) a perfect singer with quality, unique characteristics, and contemporary role model appeal who influences his target audience; 2) representing his music label with quality works, innovation, and social responsibility that enhance the credibility of the sub-brands under Thongchai McIntyres works; 3) reflecting his personal relationships as an "elder brother" with seven key traits: sincerity, excitement, ability, depth, strength, gratitude, and generosity; and 4) having a distinctive and iconic voice comparable to the letter B, or Bird, the seagull, and the sky blue-blue colour tone, which are incorporated into his "BABB BIRD BIRD" concert logo. His entertainment nickname is "Superstar Forever," and he has maintained his reputation for a long time. The development of loyalty in the fan club of Thongchai McIntyre found that the sustainable factors of loyalty are the artist's persona, representatives of the artist, the artist's work, and the fan club network. There are three groups of fans, which are those who have access to information through the artist's personal manager, those who have close access to the artist through various media, and those who are general followers. Their communication is carried out through the artist's activities and online media and the fan club network. The factors that create loyalty through reason include: 1) creating confidence through quality work, professionalism, support from the artist's music label, and influence from the fan club's family; and 2) demonstrating honesty and sincerity, such as gratitude and caring for others, revealing truthful information, showing kindness, and avoiding negative reputations. The emotional factors include: 1) creating pride from the artist's long-standing reputation and popularity, behaving as a good person and a role model; and 2) creating passion by treating others like family, providing personal attention, creating anticipation, and maintaining consistency
