Effects of organizational commitment and job satisfaction on organizational loyalty of temporary employees at rajamangala university of technology thanyaburi
Abstract:
The objectives of this independent study were to investigate: 1) personal
factors affecting organizational loyalty of temporary employees at Rajamangala
University of Technology Thanyaburi (RMUTT), 2) the effect of organizational
commitment on organizational loyalty of temporary employees at RMUTT and 3) the
effect of job satisfaction on organizational loyalty of temporary employees at RMUTT.
The sample group used in this study comprised 276 temporary employees of
RMUTT. The instrument used to collect data was a questionnaire. Statistical methods used
to analyze the data were frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation and multiple
regression analysis at a statistically significant level of .05.
The study results revealed that: 1) differences in the personal factors of age
and educational level affected the organizational loyalty of temporary employees at
RMUTT, 2) the components of organizational commitment comprising affective
commitment and normative commitment affected organizational loyalty of temporary
employees at RMUTT, and 3) job satisfaction, in the dimensions of job characteristics,
opportunity and advancement, supervisor, and colleagues, demonstrated statistically
significant effects on the organizational loyalty of temporary employees at RMUTT at a
level of .05.
