Inspection of injection molding process improvement using simulation techniques: a case study
Abstract:
Electric vehicles (EVs) are currently in high demand. The injection molding machine creates the connector, which is used to connect the electrical cables in the car. The injection molding inspection production volume is increasing as a result of the greater workload. The responsible department is dealing with a workload sharing issue since it must identify the specific machines for each worker. This study will identify, analyze, and improve the performance of injection molding inspec-tions that happen as a result of quality control issues that cause worker utilization to be more than available time and unsuitable with the number of injection molding machines. The studys objective is to improve worker utilization and balance the injection molding inspection processs utilization without adding additional workers. The workload was analyzed using the line balancing theory. For line balancing with the transportation proportion model, Tecnomatix Plant Simulation was employed as a simulation and analysis tool. The simulation models result will provide the number of shared machines for each worker to use in order to balance their workload
