Abstract:
The purposes of this research were 1) to develop the curriculum of Thai writing skills using theme-based for 8th grade students and 2) to study the result of implementation of Thai writing skills using theme-based for grade 8th students. The sampling were a group of 25 foreign students in grade 8 who were studying at Unity Concord International School, Chiangmai in the academic year of 2019 using Sample Random Sampling. The research instrument used in this study was Thai article writing test. The data weas analyzed using percentage, mean ( ) standard deviation (S.D) and t-test.
Research Findings
1. Thai writing skills using theme-based curriculum for students in 2nd year of the secondary school level was created consisting of 6 learning units: (1) Loy Krathong history (2) Yi-Peng (3) Lanna lantern history (4) Clay oil lamp (5) The national Creativity Krathong, and (6) Yi-Peng history. Overall, the theme-based learning management showed the highest level of suitability ( =4.42, S.D = 0.52). The research instrument had a conformity index (IOC) of 1.00
2.) The result of the use of Thai writing skills using theme-based curriculum for students in 2nd year of the secondary school level showed that the scores of the post-study achievement test of the sampling group displayed mean ( = 18.64), standard deviation (SD = 1.11) and the mean of the test before study was ( = 14.24), standard deviation (SD. = 2.18). The result showed that the students who learn through the activity-based learning had higher achievement 14.67%
