The Effect of Learning Management on Measures of Central Tendency by Using Open Approach with SSCS Model on Learning Achievement and Mathematical Problem- solving Ability of Matthayomsuksa 6 Students
Abstract:
The purposes of this research were 1) to compare students' learning achievement before and after learning on measures of central tendency by using Open Approach with SSCS Model of Matthayomsuksa 6 students, 2) to compare students' mathematical problem - solving ability after learning on measures of central tendency by using Open Approach with SSCS Model with a 70% threshold; and 3) to study the satisfaction of Mathayomsuksa 6 students towards learning management on measures of central tendency by using Open Approach with SSCS Model. The sample was 34 Matthayomsuksa 6/8 students at Chomphraprachasan School, Chomphra District, Surin Province in the first semester of the academic year 2022 selected by cluster random sampling. The research instruments consisted of 1) 12 lesson plans, 2) 30 - item learning achievement test, 3) 5 - item mathematical problem - solving ability test, and 4) 20 - item questionnaire asking students' satisfaction towards learning by using Open Approach with SSCS Model. The collected data were analyzed by using basic statistics. The hypothesis was tested by using dependent samples t - test and one samples t - test.
The findings showed that:
1. The learning achievement of Mathayomsuksa 6 students who were taught by the learning management on measures of central tendency by using Open Approach with SSCS Model was significantly higher than before learning at statistical level of .05.
2. The mathematical problem - solving ability of Mathayomsuksa 6 students who were taught by the learning management on measures of central tendency open Approach with SSCS Model was higher than the 70% threshold with significance at the .05 level.
3. Satisfaction of Mathayomsuksa 6 students towards learning management on measures of central tendency by using Open Approach with SSCS Model, in all aspects, was at the highest level.
