Abstract:
ABSTRACT
This research aimed to: 1) study the level of administrative behavior of administrators; 2) study the level of school effectiveness; and 3) analyze the administrative behavior that affected the school effectiveness. The sample was 317 administrators and teachers under the Office of Suphan Buri Secondary Education Service Area, derived by proportional stratified random sampling distributed by school size. The research instrument was a questionnaire. The statistics used for data analysis were frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, and stepwise multiple regression.
The findings of the research were as follows:
1. Overall and in specific aspects, the administrative behavior of administrators was at a high level. The aspects were determining performance standards, interaction and influence on each other, decision-making, communication, and motivation building,
respectively.
2. Overall and in specific aspects, the school effectiveness was at a high level.
The aspects were ability to develop students positive attitudes, ability to produce students with high academic achievement, ability to modify and develop schools, and ability to solve problems within school, respectively.
3. The administrative behavior in the aspects of decision-making (X3), determining performance standards (X5), communication (X2), interaction and influence on each other (X4), and motivation building (X1) together predicted the school effectiveness (Ytot) at the percentage of 73.40 with statistical significance level of .05. The equation could be written as follows:
Y ̂tot = 1.16 + 0.29(X3) + 0.17(X5) + 0.11(X2) + 0.10(X4) + 0.09(X1)
