Abstract:
This research was the Mixed Methods research as well as the quantity and
quality research. The quantitative used a questionnaire to collect the basic
information of the seniors at the school about 2 schools in the South was the
municipality Nakhon SI Thammarat" Veisai school" and" Ban Bo Sai Health
Promoting hospital The elderly school" Pa Phayom District, Phattalung province
about 60 people. In part quality, researchers used the interview. In order to collect
the information operations school, the elderly and the focus group, to find ways in
the development of health and welfare for the elderly in the senior schools. There
were experts to attend the meeting include responsibility for school operation,
edge, the elderly and those involved, Buddhist monks, health academics, academics
in higher education institutions and local representatives of the elderly in the senior
schools total 12 persons
The results of this research found that:
1. The process of execution of the senior schools in the South. It found that
the senior school in the South was the establishment and operation of the same
and different. In administrative responsibility, there was responsible care by
organizations/communities in the different local. Part of student taking process in
schools, it has applied for the student based on length and follow the prescribed
course. On the side of the course and teaching activities, the course features are
similar to common knowledge that was needed for the elderly, health care of the
elderly, the knowledge of nutrition for seniors
2. Health management guidelines and the welfare of the elderly in the senior
schools in the South, Health management approach found senior school side body,
volunteering in the community care for elderly. Mental side, function plays an
important role in giving the elderly have demonstrated the potential that exists.
Intelligence/emotion side, seniors had learnt to use knowledge of modern
technology and recreational activities that conform to the needs of the elderly. The
section on social/environmental, seniors had used the knowledge and life
experience that has caused social and community benefits, and using in the elderly
in the senior schools was the base for the development of housing and the
environment outside the inhabited.
Part of area to improve the welfare of the elderly in schools, found that it
had guidance on the development of the body by at the appropriate health care
of the elderly sample integration with other psychological welfare. Mental side, it
had given opportunity for the seniors participate in community consultation and
joint activities.
Aspects of social relationships, there were activities to convey knowledge
from seniors at a local wisdom, organized activities to learn and exchange of people
between the ages. Stability in life side, it had career training for seniors prepared by
a course of study in the senior school, advocates for the elderly have the job done
by the job search center can accommodate the elderly, supplementary insurance
for myself before the elderly in a more life insurance and health insurance, including
support groups, and other forms of activity. The section on the environment, it had
sharing the development of residential houses of the elderly and provided the
knowledge about waste management that was how.
3. The strengthen the role of the network to manage the welfare, health of
the elderly in senior schools in the South found that it should be established senior
schools in each the community in the Tambon level that it can improve the elderly.
The pursuit of the network section, public and private organizations can be used in
the local network operations become senior school based on the role of those
organizations. In the operation of the senior schools and the network must be
integrated, consistent together.
