Abstract:
Coconut cream with turmeric extract contains nutrients such as proteins, fats and carbohydrates, and
antioxidant as curcuminoid compounds which was needed for growth performance and survival rate of
Macrobrachium rosenbergii. This study evaluated the effect of coconut cream with turmeric extract as a
dietary supplement for growth performance and survival rate of Macrobrachium rosenbergii. Macrobrachium
rosenbergi were feed three time/day for 16 weeks with feed supplemented with coconut cream with turmeric
extract at 0% (T1), 5% (T2), 10% (T3), 15% (T4), 20% (T5). In the experiment, average initial weight of
Macrobrachium rosenbergii was between 0.01 to 0.02 g/body. The growth of Macrobrachium rosenbergii
was studies by measuring average weight, daily weight gain and feed conversion ratio (FCR) and survival
rate. It was found that Macrobrachium rosenbergii cultured in T5 showed growth and the survival rate was
better than the control trial and other trials. It can be concluded that coconut cream with turmeric extract was
used as powerful feed supplement for rearing Macrobrachium rosenbergi because % feed supplement in TS
has nutritious with high antioxidant and high antioxidant activity resulting in high growth rate and high
survival rate.
