Abstract:
The objectives of this Dissertation were: 1. To analytically study the present condition, problems and obstacles of model development of cultural tourism management in Saraburi Province, 2. To study the model development process of the cultural tourism management in Saraburi Province and 3. To propose the model development of cultural tourism management in Saraburi Province.
Methodology was the mixed-methods: The qualitative research, data were collected from 18 key informants by structured in-depth-interview, history documents and articles and from 9 participants in focus group discussion. Data were analyzed by descriptive interpretation. The quantitative research, data were collected from 359 samples with questionnaires. Data were analyzed by descriptive statistics: frequency, percentage, mean and standard deviation and presented in form of tables.
The research findings were as follows;
1. The present conditions of the management of cultural tourism management in Saraburi Province were found that there were participatory management from communities, monasteries, schools, government agencies. There were many tourism resources, such as ancient places, antiques, beautiful buildings suitable for historical studies arts and crafts, prominent cultural activities in important Buddhist holidays that Thai and foreign tourists were interested in. Communication is convenient with direction signs all the way. The round trip travelling from Bangkok to Saraburi can be done in one day. As for problems and obstacles, communities surrounding the cultural tourist attraction were not orderly. Stray dogs and cats, vagrants and beggars used the places as home, annoying tourists. Convenient shops, lottery hawkers were not placed orderly.
2. Management process of cultural tourism in Saraburi Province, advertising and public relations for tourist attractions and cultural activities used travelling vehicles with vinyl billboard. Personnel mostly were seniors from the communities with volunteering minds including monks and novices to look after the places and organize cultural activities, information of historical sites, route direction, landmark for souvenir picture. As for the safety and security, there were screening points to check temperature, mask wearing and jell for hand cleaning to prevent Covid 19 with close circuit cameras with personnel on duty at all times.
3. The model development of cultural tourism management in Saraburi Province: Advertising and public relations; the map of tourist sites with print media, Websites, page, Facebook, Instagram, Line, YouTube in English and Asian languages. Participatory personnel; training for skills and foreign languages, implanting good attitude for working, good service and correct information and recommendation. Recommendation; tourist satisfaction, safety and peace surveillance in the parking lots, closed circuit cameras installment covering the whole areas for safety protection for tourists and pilgrims at all times.
