Abstract:
The study entitled A Model of Raising Awareness and Building Participation in Preventing the Spread of Covid-19 of Seri Market, Sampran District, Nakhon Pathom Province consisted of the following objectives: 1) to explore the conditions of awareness and participation in preventing the spread of Covid-19 of Seri Market, Sampran District, Nakhon Pathom Province; 2) to investigate the awareness and participation in preventing the spread of Covid-19 of Seri Market, Sampran District, Nakhon Pathom Province; 3) to propose a model of raising awareness and building participation in preventing the spread of covid-19 of Seri Market, Sampran District, Nakhon Pathom Province. The study used a mixed-method approach, using key informants from Seri Market. The population and sample group were also people at Seri Market. The statistics used for data analysis were frequency, percentage, mean, and standard deviation.
From the study, the following results are found:
1) The conditions of awareness and participation in preventing the spread of Covid-19 of Seri Market, Sampran District, Nakhon Pathom Province found as follows: the ability to prepare oneself e.g., leaving the house only when it is necessary; maintaining a social distance of at least 1-2 meters; avoiding crowded locations; putting up disinfection equipment; and cleaning the market areas. People can participate in the prevention of Covid-19 by the following approaches: resolving and preventing problems by allowing individuals to participate in initiatives; collectively formulating policies, planning, making decisions, and implementing the plans according to the government policies; having the knowledge and understanding in the measures to prevent the spread of Covid-19.
2) The awareness and participation in the prevention of Covid-19 in the community of Seri Market found as follows: knowledge and understanding of the spread of Covid-19 have been provided; support and collaboration with officials from Ministry of Public Health; adequate agreement to implement projects leading to the participation of concerned parties in solving problems causing people's livelihoods to improve. The obstacles to preventing the spread of Covid-19 are as follows: public relations to provide knowledge to the public through the media costs money, as does support for collaboration from relevant parties.
3) A model of raising awareness and building participation in preventing the spread of covid-19 of Seri Market, Sampran District, Nakhon Pathom Province found as follows: the implementation of system and plan to manage environmental health; the provision of equipment and protective clothing from Covid-19; the comprehensive provision of containers to house solid waste for people in the community; the provision of appropriate and adequate protective equipment; and the support in raising awareness and increasing participation in the prevention of Covid-19 spread for the Seri Market community.
