Abstract:
The objectives of this research were 1) to study learning behavior of
marginal boys, 2) to study learning enhancement of marginal boys, 3) to suggest the
construction of networks for learning promotion of marginal boys of the Local
Government Organization in Khon Kaen province and the center of the non-formal
education center and informal learning in Mueang Khon Kaen District. It is a mixed
research between quantity and quality. The quantitative sample consisted of 115
persons and 6 qualitative data providers. The quantitative research tools were
questionnaires. The qualitative research tools were interview forms. Statistic used for
quantitative data analysis were frequency, percentage, mean, and standard deviation.
Qualitative data were analyzed by using descriptive methods.
The result of the research shows that learning behavior of marginal boys
was behavior in creating and seeking knowledge by sharing, exchanging knowledge
between them together. That would occur in groups mostly closed to one another.
This is because of no mediator between knowledgeable people and disadvantaged
people. As for the sharing of knowledge in the form of lectures or workshops, there
is no part of the boys. But it would be sharing the knowledge of the agencies that
help the marginal boys. To promote learning for the marginal boys had learning
promotion with creating a learning organization by providing a team of volunteer
networks come to develop vocational skills for the marginal boy together. In creating
a learning society which consists of children of different genders, ages, and different
communities coming to learn together and doing activities together, having
discussions, teaching, exchanging knowledge and ability with each other. Under
creating a network to promote the learning of marginal boys of the local government
organization in Khon Kaen Province and the center of non-formal education center
and informal learning in Mueang Khon Kaen District, it was found that the local
government organization and the Office of Non-Formal and Informal Education had a
network construction by MOU with agencies in Khon Kaen province for teaching and
learning management to improve the quality of the marginal boy in Khon Kaen
Municipality community between 3 agencies namely, 1) Local Government
Organization 2) Office of Non-Formal and Informal Education in Khon Kaen Province,
and 3) Leaders of each community where marginal boys living in. All three agencies
must cooperate closely.
