Abstract:
This study aimed to investigate the students levels of three characteristics namely self-regulation, motivation, anxiety, and positive belief in online English learning and examine the influence of three characteristics on self-regulation in online English learning. A mixed method was used in this study. The participants were 130 undergraduate students who enrolled English courses in the first semester of academic year 2020 at a private university in Nakhon Pathom. A questionnaire and a focus group interview were employed in this study. The finding revealed that the participants demonstrated high level of self-regulation, high level of motivation, moderate level of anxiety, and high level of positive belief in online English learning. Motivation and belief in online English learning correlated significantly with self-regulation at p = 0.01 and p = 0.05 respectively.
